Ikebukuro Tantanmen Ramen(Dandan noodles)Spicy【9shops】Tokyo Food ,What to eat

Tantanmen is a kind of Ramen noodle.
It is the typical Japanese-style localized Chinese Sichuan cuisine dandannoodles(* ̄∇ ̄)ノ

1.There are two meaning of TanTanMen Ramen

There are two types of tantanmen in Japan (especially in Ikebukuro , Tokyo).

  • Tantanmen Ramen
Tantanmen Ramen is a noodle dish with a sauce made from sesame paste and chili oil
This is the mainstream of “Tantanmen ramen” in Japan
Unless otherwise noted, it is used in this sense.
  • Tantanmen Ramen (without soup/汁なし)/Dandan noodles
Keeping the original appearance of Sichuan, China
It is called “汁なし/Shiru Nashi” because there is no soup.
The spiciness of chili and the numbness of Sichuan pepper are spicy.

I’d like to share

  1. Japanese typical Tantanmen ramen
  2. Tantanmen ramen/Dandan noodles without soup
  3. Spicy ramen (not Dandan noodles)

2.TypicalTantanmen Ramen with Sesame Flavor【2 Restaurants in Ikebukuro】

I will share a restaurant that serves typical Japanese Tantanmen.

2-1. 【Ikebukuro West (Kanamecho)】 Tanaka/中華酒菜たなか

Ikebukuro tantanmen/Chuka Syusai Tanaka

A Chinese restaurant with a cute panda, located between Ikebukuro and Kanamecho on Kanamecho Street at the west exit of Ikebukuro.

The red and green gyoza dumplings are recommended as well as the thick sesame tantanmen

2-2. 【Kanamecho】 Danu Danu Noodles with Sesame Flavor at Ryuei/龍栄

【要町】龍栄で、胡麻香るダヌダヌ麺

Proceed along Rikkyo-dori toward Kaname-cho and Shiina-machi, cross Yamate-dori, and you will find the “Machi-chuka” restaurant.
Read the unique dish names and descriptions on the menu to decide what to order.

The Danu Danu Noodles in the photo are soup noodles made by stir-frying sesame seeds, toasted sesame seeds, minced meat, Chinese chives, and bean sprouts in a salty sauce with spices such as sweet vinegar.
I picked it up because it is close to Japanese Tantanmen noodles.

3.Dandan noodles in Ikebukuro! No soup【4 Restaurants】

Dandan noodles straight from Sichuan.

3-1.【Ikebukuro West】Aired on TV! Chinese Home Cooking Yang/中国家庭料理 楊

Chinese home-cooked dishes Yang Annex

Yang [Annex] is located along Gourmet Street across Geigeki Street at the west exit of Ikebukuro.
In “Kodoku no Gourmet”, Mr. Goro Inogashira ate “Soupless Dandan noodles (and gyoza with feathers)” at Yang [2nd store].

There is an [Annex] at the entrance of the alley where the second store is located, and geeks had soupless dandan noodles at the annex.
You can choose the level of spiciness, so don’t overdo it.

There was no official website for the annex, so I pasted the nearby second store.

3-2.【Ikebukuro East】 You can choose Japanese style or Chengdu style! Rokubo Tantanmen/六坊担担面

Ikebukuro Tantanmen@Rokubo Tantan-men

A restaurant specializing in dandan noodles located on the 1st floor of Rakuen Town at the east exit of Ikebukuro.
You can choose with soup or without soup, and you can also choose Japanese style or Chengdu style without soup.
Although they look almost the same, there must be a technique to change the taste.
Enjoy the chili (spiciness) and sansho (numbness).

3-3. 【Sunshine City】 All-you-can-eat boiled dumplings for lunch! Sichuan Home CookingRon Earl/四川家庭料理栄児

【サンシャイン】ランチは水餃子食べ放題!四川家庭料理栄児

This orange shop is located in the restaurant area on the 3rd floor of Sunshine Alpa.
Although it is not serious Chinese food, the impression is more of “sichuan home cooking as it is” rather than “adapted to Japan” where you can feel the spices on your tongue and nose.

You can choose from 4 levels of spiciness, and the nuts will neutralize the mustard.
For lunch, it is amazing that boiled gyoza can be refilled freely.

3-4. 【Ikebukuro Station】 No meat, seafood, or eggs! T’s Tantan/T’sたんたん

【池袋駅JR構内】肉・魚介類・乳製品・卵不使用!T'sたんたん

Recommended for vegetarians, vegans, and people on a diet who want to eat dandan noodles.

4-1. 【Ikebukuro East】A Restaurant with long lines! Karashibi Miso Ramen Kikanbo/鬼金棒

【池袋東口】行列!カラシビ味噌らー麺 鬼金棒 池袋店

It is a queue store near Sunshine 60.
There are only two stores in Japan, one in Kanda and one in Ikebukuro (there is also one curry store).

You can enjoy the “karashibi” experience that creates the deep flavor and spiciness of chili peppers, the freshness that goes through the nose of Japanese pepper, and the addictive numbness.
For “Kara” and “Shibi”, select “Without/Less/Normal/Increase” respectively. It can be adjusted, and it is also possible to add 200 yen to “demon increase”.

4-2. 【Ikebukuro East】Hot and Delicious! Mouko Tanmen Nakamoto/蒙古タンメン中本

Ikebukuro Spicy Raman/Mouko Tanmen Nakamoto

Nakamoto where you can eat spicy and delicious ramen.
It is known for “Hokkyoku Ramen”, which has a very spicy soup.

It may be better to think that you can adjust the spiciness of tanmen, which is topped with plenty of meat and vegetables.

The photo shows Mouko tanmen with a spiciness of 5, the most popular.
If it’s your first time in Nakamoto, we recommend the Mouko Tanmen or the Miso Tanmen with a spiciness of 3.

4-3. 【Ikebukuro West】It looks ferocious! Hiroshima Tsukemen Marutochibi/広島つけ麺 まるとちび

【池袋西口】見た目が凶暴!広島つけ麺 まるとちび

Yakitori “Tsutaya” is located near Ikebukuro Nishiguchi Park, across from Geigeki Dori.
“Hiroshima Tsukemen Maru Tochibi” seems to rent a room there during the daytime.

Hiroshima tsukemen consists of cold noodles, plenty of boiled vegetables, and a very spicy dipping sauce.
The sauce was not as spicy as it looked and had a refreshing taste.
